. A 4 days classic car motorcade, managed by ACA 72 Club, with 60 classic cars of early twentieth century (1895 to 1914) and dressed up pilots and passengers, gastronomic and cultural stages (visits of historical locations seen by Léon BOLLEE and Wilbur WRIGHT in 1908).
. The motorcade would go -beside Le Mans and Plantagenet City - through the two historical sites of Sarthe in aviation history, Hunaudieres horse track (today inside the international Le Mans 24 Hour circuit) and Auvours military camp (in Champagné on east part of Le Mans), and also to drive through St-Gervais en Belin, Créaans (where lived Paul D'ESTOURNELLES DE CONSTANT, another strong support of Wilbur, Peace Nobel Prize in 1909), La Flèche and the prestigious National Military Academy of Prytanée (visited by Léon BOLLEE and Wilbur WRIGHT in 1908), the wonderful Regional Air Museum of Angers Marcé (where is on display the original aeroplane of REné GASNIER DU FRESNE, witness of the 1st flight of Wilbur WRIGHT at Hunaudieres on 8th August 1908, whothen made the 1st flight in Anjou province on 17th September 1908).
. Some details about this motorcade are still upon confirmation and would be on line once known
. The exceptional participation of several foreign automobile clubs, coming from Germany, UK, Netherlands and Belgium must be noticed.
. The non exhaustive list of classic automobiles, beside the famous BOLLEE cars (Amédée the son, Léon) would gather RENAULT (including one of the famous Taxi Cab of Marne, heroes of WWI battle), DARRACQ, DE DION BOUTON, HURTU, CLEMENT BAYARD, BUICK, OAKLAND, MAXWELL, FORD T,...in other words only exceptional classic cars!
A great moment for all of us!
