Extraordinary race starting proceeding
To associate aautomobile and aviation during a Centennial, what is best than Le Mans and Sarthe? Thus the 2008 edition of 24 Hour race would re-ennact during its start proceeding, the historical meeting of aviation and automobile, between Wilbur WRIGHT - an American from Dayton, Ohio, representing aviation - and Leon BOLLEE, the French from Le Mans and Sarthe, representing automobile.
The start proceeding of Le Mans 24 Hour 2008 race

Le Mans 24 Hour automobile grand prix is one of the world's most famous race. Every year 250,000 spectators, 2,500 journalists come from 100 different countries.
This above mentionned event is justified by historical local or national links between pioneers of automobile and aviation. Aero Club of Sarthe is founded by the same group of entrepreneurs and politics who created a little before the Automobile Club of Sarthe and who organized the first historical car racing in circuit: the Automobile Club of France 1906 Grand Prix. Aero-Club of Sarthe welcomes Wilbur WRIGHT in Le Mans in 1908-1909.
The WRIGHT brothers story is linked to the two first earthmen who walked on the moon: Neil ARMSTRONG, Buzz ALDRIN. They carried a piece of fabrics and a piece of wooden made propeller of the 1st 1903 WRIGHT FLYER which flew on 17th December 1903 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, USA.
