Visit of Mrs. Amanda WRIGHT LANE of Souriau plant
The Souriau Co., one of the world leading firm in connecting technologies, is located since 1966 in Champagné, Sarthe, France, nearby (less than 1/3 mile) the military camp of Auvours where Wilbur WRIGHT made his flying experimentations from 21st August 1908 to 2nd January 1909.
Needless to say that all Souriau employees, the management staff and Mr. Thierry QUILLET (Director of Souriau Sarthe and Morocco) provided a very warm welcome to Mrs. Amanda WRIGHT LANE and the delegation driven by the Centennial Committee on this day of 20th June 2006.
Amanda WRIGHT LANE is the great grand niece of the famous brothers Wilbur and Orville WRIGHT and the Official Spokesperson of the Wright family. She is President of the Wright Family Foundation and member of numerous organizations, among the Le Mans Sarthe Wright 2008 Centennial Committee where she is Honorary Vice-President in company of Mr. Gerard BOLLEE, representing the Bollée family.
During that day of 20th June, the Souriau Co. did inaugurate a Wright room, in presence of numerous personalities, including : Mrs. carroll D'ARCIMOLES (president of Pau Wright Aviation), Mr. François PAYEUR (president of Le Mans Sarthe Aero Retro), Mr. Gérard BOLLEE and Mr. François BOLLEE (grand nephews of Léon BOLLEE, the main sponsor of the WRIGHTS in Le Mans in 1908-1909), Captain Hervé PORTENSEIGNE (Commander of Le Mans BAI, representing French Air Force), Mr. Michel DAIRON (President Dairon Co.), Mr. Marc DENOUEIX (President of MG Entreprises, President of Le Mans Sarthe Wright 2008 Centennial Committee).
A partnership agreement has thus been signed between Souriau Co. and the Centennial Committee.
